MAHALO ALEWORKS
Why You Should Visit Mahalo Aleworks
Are you looking for a unique and fun place to enjoy craft beers? Look no further than Mahalo Aleworks in Pukalani, Upcountry Maui. One of the best Maui breweries has been turning out some of the best beer on the islands, and I recently had the chance to check it out for myself. Here is my review of this fantastic local brewery.
The Atmosphere
Mahalo Aleworks has a really relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The bar is spacious but still cozy enough to make you feel right at home. Even though both upstairs and downstairs are covered, it feels as though you’re outside. They still have a large downstairs patio and plenty of lanais with views upstairs, but even sitting inside, you feel out in the open. There are also plenty of tables and chairs if you want to hang out with your friends and family while sipping on a cold one.
The Beer Selection
Mahalo Aleworks offers a wide range of very good beers, including IPAs, pilsners, stouts, lagers, and more. There’s something for every taste here. In addition to their signature brews, they also offer rotating seasonal selections that you won’t find anywhere else. My favorites were the Lilikoi Sour and the Rum Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Mahalo Aleworks has also won numerous awards for its beers. If you can’t decide, grab one of their beer-tasting flights.
The Food Menu
If you’re feeling hungry after some beers, don’t worry, Upcountry Sausage Co. has got you covered! Located on the downstairs lanai, choose from sausage sandwiches, burgers, and even tacos at a great price. You can also run next door to Restaurant Marlow, one of the best local restaurants, and grab a pizza to-go. The owners are good friends, and they support each other in many ways.
All in all, Mahalo Aleworks is an excellent place to go for craft beer lovers on Maui. Whether you’re looking for an afternoon hangout spot or simply want to try some amazing brews after exploring Upcountry or Haleakala Crater, try one of the best breweries in Maui. With its welcoming atmosphere and tasty selection of beers, I highly recommend giving Mahalo Aleworks. Live music 4 – 5 nights per week, trivia night on Tuesdays. Cheers!
MAUI BREWING COMPANY
Why You Should Visit Maui Brewing Company
Maui Brewing Company was founded in 2005 by Garrett Marrero. Since its inception, Maui Brewing Co. has been dedicated to creating quality craft beer and operating sustainably. Maui Brewing Company is now the largest craft brewery in Hawaii and distributes its beer across the United States. With two locations on Maui to choose from, you are never too far from happy hour and a cold beer.
The Atmosphere
Their relatively new location in Kihei is remarkable. Almost more of a beer garden than a brewery and restaurant, this massive property is a fun spot for great beers, games, and ono grinds. The first location is just North of Lahaina in Kahana, with two locations on Oahu.
The Beer Selection
The Maui Brewing Company’s lineup includes a variety of year-round beers, seasonal beers, limited-release beers, and barrel-aged beers. Some of the Maui Brewing Company’s most popular beers include its Coconut Hiwa Porter, Pau Hana Pilsner, Bikini Blonde Lager, Big Swell IPA, Coconut Porter, and Mana Wheat Ale.
In addition to brewing great beer (and soda), the Maui Brewing Co. is also committed to sustainability. The Maui Brewing Company sources ingredients from local farmers and uses solar energy to power its operations. The Maui Brewing Company also gives back to its community through philanthropy and volunteerism. When it comes to Maui breweries, Maui Brewing Company is top-notch in community service.
If you’re ever on the island of Maui, be sure to stop by both Mahalo AleWorks and Maui Brewing Company for a tour and a taste of some delicious craft beer! And don’t forget to drink responsibly!
